From the Conference Co-Chair

Dear CKC 2025 Participants, Colleagues, and AKCSE Members,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2025 Canada-Korea Conference on Science and Technology (CKC 2025), jointly organized by the Association of Korean-Canadian Scientists and Engineers (AKCSE) and the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST). This year’s conference will take place July 28 – August 1, 2025, in Montreal, Quebec, a vibrant hub of science, technology, and innovation.

Since its inception in 2011, the CKC has served as a key platform for fostering innovation, showcasing cutting-edge research, and promoting collaboration between Canada and Korea across academia, industry, and government. Each year, the conference brings together leading experts to address emerging and future challenges in science, technology, and innovation (ST&I) through open dialogue and partnership.

The theme for CKC 2025, “Collaborative Advances in Emerging Tech Between Canada and Korea: AI, Quantum, Aerospace, Energy, Marine, Biotech, and Beyond (AQUA EMB)”, highlights the importance of joint efforts in addressing the challenges and opportunities posed by emerging technologies.

The conference will feature flagship forums on these key areas, as well as the STI Forum to explore multidisciplinary advancements and solutions. In addition, the program includes the Young Generation & Young Professional Conference, WiSE (Women in Science and Engineering) Program, Korean Government Research Institutes R&D Programs, and other engaging events.

Building on the success of CKC 2024 in Banff and CKC 20233 in Ottawa, we anticipate another dynamic and impactful conference. This success is made possible by the dedication of our organizing committees, local volunteers, partner institutions, and most importantly, the enthusiastic participation of delegates like you.

As we gather in Montreal to share knowledge, foster partnerships, and inspire innovation, I encourage you to take full advantage of the diverse programs and networking opportunities CKC 2025 offers. I hope you will have a productive and enriching experience that leads to new collaborations and insights.

Thank you for joining us at CKC 2025, and I look forward to seeing you in Montreal this summer.

Warm regards,

Hyo-Jick Choi
