CKC 2022 will be ongoing from July 4-8, 2022 Niagara Falls Marriott on the Falls Hotel in Niagara Falls, ON.
As Ontario's pandemic-related distancing and lockdown restrictions are being relaxed this year, all sessions will be held in-person, without online sessions.

Applications for the CKC2022 YGP Program are now closed.


YG CASE COMPETITION

  • Participants will be expected to present a creative approach to the question: What is a project idea that you, as a student in STEM, can launch in your local university environment to contribute towards a sustainable net-zero future?
  • Participants will present a 15-minute idea pitch, followed by a Q&A session. Presentations will be evaluated by 2 judges for the feasibility and originality of the idea, as well as delivery.
  • Note: Limited number of speakers (5) will be selected to present for the YG Case Competition this year.

SKILL SHARE WORKSHOP

  • The Skill Share Workshop aims to provide YGP members insight on valuable soft skills that typically cannot be learned without exposure and personal experience.
  • The presenter will share a ~15-minute presentation regarding their industry/academia experience to date and a valuable soft skill they have learned and developed from their career thus far.
  • Skills may include but are not limited to, leadership, time-management, creativity, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, etc...
  • The Call for Abstracts will seek to recruit 3-4 presenters from both industry and academic backgrounds.
  • Note: Limited number of speakers (4) will be selected to present for the YGP Skill Share Workshop this year.

PROJECT SHOWCASE

  • The Project Showcase aims to provide a glimpse of YGP members’ professional careers. It will involve a 10-minute presentation on the presenters’ current professional projects, a brief overview of their profession, career development and how their current professional activities contribute to the development of their field.
  • We invite both research and industry YP members to present in the Project Showcase this year in an attempt to provide an opportunity to expand their interprofessional relationships.
  • Note: Limited number of speakers (6) will be selected to present for the YGP Project Showcase this year.

Selected AKCSE members (YG or YP) will be provided with accommodation and meal support (during the conference) as well as zone-based partial travel support and a reduced registration fee ($50) to CKC. Accommodation and zone-based travel supports will be applied to non-local participants only.
